Most second opinions confirm the first one. That is still worth having, because a confirmed diagnosis is easier to accept and act on than one you privately doubt.

This is private care; fees are payable by you or your insurer, and pre-authorisation is yours to obtain before an appointment. Nothing on this website is medical advice. Some conditions need a GP referral letter, both for safety and for insurer recognition, and we will tell you when one is required. In medico-legal work the expert's duty is to the court rather than to the instructing party. This is not an emergency service — call 999 in an emergency and NHS 111 for urgent advice.
For some conditions yes, for clinical safety and because most insurers require one. We will tell you when a referral is needed rather than taking the booking and leaving you to discover it.
That is the most common outcome and it is worth having. A confirmed diagnosis is far easier to accept and act on than one you quietly doubt, and we will say plainly when we agree.
No. We order investigations that would change management and say so when a test would mainly produce an incidental finding to worry about. Private medicine has the opposite incentive, which is worth knowing.
We can write an independent report. An expert's overriding duty is to the court, not to whoever instructs or pays, so the opinion is what it is — and a report that bends to a case damages the claim it was meant to help.
That depends on your policy and usually on pre-authorisation, which is yours to obtain before the appointment. Ask your insurer for an authorisation number and the specialty they have approved.
No. Call 999 in an emergency and NHS 111 for urgent advice. We also do not replace your GP or NHS specialist care.
Send a short enquiry. We will tell you honestly, including when we are not.
